As per the Yeti Airlines announcement we back home.

Next day 26th Dec 07 also the same routing, we went to airport at 11.30 A.M. and wait for one and half hour, finally our plane take off at 1 P.M. and landed on Rumjatar airport at 1.30 P.M., which was really wonderful moment for us to be there after all our patient. Once we came out from the airport, Jangbu arranged jeep to Okhaldhunga. It was not really comfortable drive compared with our city drive but it was really different fun to traveled in 8 seated jeep carrying 15 peoples on the rough road, even though it had it’s own fun and there was no option as well. Finally we reached one of the beautiful parts of the Nepal carrying its own value and sense called Okhaldhunga, which is one hour drive from Rumjatar. We stayed in one of the teahouse. After taking some rest in tea house we went to see Miss Dati Sherpa (from Patle Village), who is studying there in ANM, where Mount Everest Foundation sponsored all of her education fee and others needs. Once we met her, she took us to her apartment, which is actually 5.45 P.M. She offered us tea, which was my first Okhaldhunga Tea and we had some chat with her also regarding her study and living.

Here is some Bio-Data of Miss Dati Sherpa. She is leaving in Patle village, Khasi Pare, okhaltunga, and her date of birth is 30th March 1992, daughter of Mr. Mingma Dorje sherpa.  She had just finished her School Leaving Certificate, now she is studying nursing course in Himalaya Para Medical Sikchalaya, Okhaldhunga,Ward no-8, Sobru. Mr. Fanindra Dari is a Principal of that Institute. The whole course of ANM, is 18 months course and out of 18 months course,  12 months is theory and 3-3 months are practicals. Yes, one thing, I would like to mention is that she had already finished her 4 month period of this course.

Anyway it was so nice conversation with her on that day regarding her and her course and we came back to Tea House, promising to meet next day in morning at her school. Back in our Tea House we had Nepali Traditional Food Dal, Bhat (Lintel and Rice).

(Dati Sherpa, in her room)

Day 27th Dec “07, Jangbu came to my room wake me up. It was 6 A.M. Then we went to Himalaya Para Medical Sikchalaya School.  It took us 45 minutes to reach there. When we reached there all the student were studying, so we didn’t distrube Dati. So we decided to visit hospital there in Okhaldhunga, which run by United Mission of Nepal. It was too early so we could not see in charged of that Hospital and staffs as well.

After sight seeing the Okhaldhunga Hospital we went back to School again. Still Dati was studying, so we waited for her for an hour in office room and she came out from the class and she took us to meet her Principal, Mr. Fanindra. We had some conversation with him regarding Dati Course as well as with other teachers also and other circumstances of the course. When I talked about Dati he told me that ANM course is little difficult course compared to other course. So she had some confusion, and also he recommended having some course books she needed. So I ask to Dati to make list of course book, which she needed.

After that meeting we went to Dati’s classroom, where 40 students are studying in one class room. And we took some pictures of her class room as well as her pictures also.

After all the meeting, we came back to tea house, and had brunch, because it is normal there to have Dal and rice in morning other wise we won't get food. That is daily routine of village life so we don’t have other option. After brunch Jangbu went out to market for his own business and I was trying to find out my departure ticket.

Unfortunately, Yeti airline declared cancelled all Rumjatar flight because the Run Way was really bad. So I stock in Okhaldhunga. Still I am trying my best to find out one seat in Nepal Airline (National Carrier) even though I never believe this airline, but there was no choice so I went to Nepal Airline office. I had tried my best to get seat in that plane but unfortunately I couldn’t get any seats. Still I didn’t give up so I went to talk with Army chief in that village, he told me that there will be no flight Until 28th Dec, only one on Monday that was 31st Dec. Other hand I had an option, driving from Okhaldhunga to Kathmandu. That would take around 3 days to reach Kathmandu and also needed to change three buses. So I am confused. So that I talked with Jangbu, he suggest me instead of waiting that flight and driving back to Kathmandu, may be I should visit to Patle and walk down to Jiri. And I taught it might be good idea instead of waiting the Plane over there. But still I was believing to get a seat in the plane for Next Day.

28th Dec’07, we wake up at 8 A.M. I had little chat with Jangbu and tea house owner return back from Kathmandu. The time was running it was already 9:30 A.M. and it was the time of brunch. If I missed that I will not get lunch so I must have that brunch even thought it was too early. Any way it is new experience. After brunch, I went for sight seeing of village and Jangbu went to Registration office to register his land. And also I had got new experience in Okhaldhunga, because I had found that the village was totally control by Maoist. But I didn’t find any Maoist even though it is a small village in looks. So I back to tea house and decided to go Patle then walk to Jiri.

(Dati Sherpa’s school) (Shree Himalayan Para Medical Sikchalaya, Sobro, Okhaldhunga) (Two class room, where they study ANM and Health assistant)

29th December ’07, I wake up at 6 A.M. after drinking tea we started to walk to Thare from Okhaldhunga, which was 4 hours walk, once we reached Thare, we decided to walk little further distance called Janterkhani, where we had lunch. After lunch we planned to walk Jampre where we were going to spend night. So we start walked. It took us another 4 hours to reach there. We reached Jampre at 6 P.M, so I took my dinner quickly and went to bed. While we were walking through Jampre we saw many beautiful mountain ranges. Because those mountain Ranges, I didn’t feel that we were walking so long.

30th December, wake up at 6 A.M. I had some small chat with Jangbu. He told me that I can go to Jiri with Phuri (my poter), because, inseated of Patle Health Post, there won’t be any one on that day, because of Saturday, which is our weekly holiday and Jangbu also need to meet with villager’s chief very quickly. So I decided to separate from there, Jangbu went to his village Patle, I walked down to Jiri from Jampre. Way from Jampre  to Jiri was so beautiful because of  such a nice view of PK, Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Peak Meera, and numbers of Dudha Kosi etc but the trail was not so good for walk. I was walking very carefully. Any way we were continuously walking down to Jiri. On the mid way from Jampre to Jiri many place came respectively called Topting, Bulbul, Janterkhani then to Likhu khola.

And spend night there it took us 12 hours to walk from there. It was not really trekking trail so we didn’t find many teahouses, only we found small tea house, where porter can spend night there. Because of long walk, I was so tired I went to bed, even I didn’t have food.

31st December (New Year Eve) we wake up at 5 A.M. started to walk to Bhandar.

After Bhandar I was continuously walking to Deurali, where we had lunch. After lunch continuously walking to Sivalaya where we spend a night there and booked the bus ticket to Kathmandu. There was only one bus, which goes to Kathamndu it was called Super Bus.

1st Jan’08 New Year day, Happy New Year to Every One but my planned was different so I wake up at 4 A.M. move ahead by bus to Jiri, it was 5 A.M. When I reached Jiri, I came to know that there was strike. So I again was stock there in Jiri for two days. And finally our bus started to drive on 3rd Jan’08 to Kathmandu. I reached Kathmandu on 3rd Jan 2008 in evening.

So this was my adventure travel all the way to Rumjatar to Jiri Kathmandu.
